Cult of Mac has a nice story about how Apple might be able to use Liquidmetal for making future iPhone cases.
The blog cites Dr. Jan Schroers, the former director of research at Liquidmetal Technologies, as saying: “I think they’re going to make the iPhone out of it. ... It’s quite obvious from what Liquidmetal has done in the past and what the technology is capable of.” Check out the blog post for pictures of a perfume bottle made in Liquidmetal as a example of how the metal can be used.
In addition, Apple is already using Liquidmetal now, according to Cult of Mac. The blog says that Apple is using the metal alloy in some of its SIM card ejector pins.
